The County will start construction tomorrow on a gravity drainage system that will connect the sump box on Recreation to the ditch on Scenic Dr.(near the bend where the culvert currently crosses Scenic Dr). The closure will be above the pool and below 191 Scenic. The intent is to not have to rely on a pump system for drainage during the winter. The County is looking to improve the ability to capture the drainage from the bottom up. Thus the plan is to install a gravity system that will divert water which collects in the slide area to the improved ditch. Once this system is in place, the County will begin the french drain construction they mentioned at the Supervisor's meeting on 10/30. The anticipated closure will be through December 5. Residents in the area should be able to go around the closure by using Cuesta Real and Canada Vista.
